Default Cheap Chests

Hi guys,

Now that I've finished Treasure Hunter and Unlucky, I want to go for Lucky.

With the 95% (I think) retention rate with 50g key chests, this should be the cheapest way of finishing Lucky.

I'm just wondering if anyone knows any reliable 50g chests close to an outpost?

Thanks,

Ank

I think people generally run Ascalon foothills. There's guaranteed to be one chest and you can run back and forward through it to your hearts content

Ok this isn't THE best place for lucky, but I'm doing the ft ranik mission. I get one to three chests per run, plus a bunch of charr carvings I can trade in for party/drunkard/sweet points when the wintersday redo starts. Kind of combining two goals.

And the loot I sell more than pays for the lockpicks.

hmm i would try if i were toy right outside boreal station in NM you can quickly(under 45 secs) run to the locked chest there. Now i know you said u maxed treasure hunter but this is kind of a dual way(tripple way w/ golds? ;p) to get lucky points. I know for me at least im only r3 treasure and not even r1 lucky yet(havent been doing this chest farm for very long lol) and i have a 46~49% retaintion rate w/ my lockpicks. hope this helps (p.s. anymore info on that ascolon foothills chest farm would be nice, i google it and came up w/ nada)

There isnt necessarily going to be any info on chest running Ascalon foothills.
Probably because its a stupidly small explorable area.
You just zone into the area, run through it to other side looking for the chest. Zone at other side, then back in again. Rinse and repeat.

Just wondering, which keys you use for Ascalon Foothills (Lockpicks or 50g Keys), and, if Lockpicks, HM or NM since they can be used in NM too :P. Thx.

Yeah I completed Treasure Hunter outside boreal, but would take a ridiculous amount more of lockpicks to complete Lucky.

it'll be lockpicks and in nm, to maximise the retention rate and therefore lucky point gain.

Pretty sure it has to be lockpicks. The point is to farm lucky points, so a lockpick has the greatest retention chance if you're opening the cheapest chest. If they run in HM, there would be locked chests instead of 50g Ascalon chests. They're running the chest in NM to farm lucky points, and using a 50g Ascalon Key (not quite sure of the name) wouldn't give you lucky points at all.

So, for farming lucky points - you must use Lockpicks and you're far better off running this in NM than in HM.

Sorry if I totally misunderstood your question.

Cheers,
Luny

The chest outside Boreal Station is good, but BEWARE:

I got banned 2 days ago for 'botting'. I ran the chest like 400 times in 2 days, and some kids probably reported me as such.

Support was quick in escalating my ticket to the right department, but I'm sure it'll take 1+ weeks to get it back.

So my advice: Don't do it too often.

Gotta say that I did boreal 10,000, with the last 2000 coming within the last few days, and was there quite often for hours at a time and never had any problems.

oh banned for that. nasty

OK Ascalon Foothills is the best place. If you have a tower and a lap top with other accounts.. my suggestion would be...get there with you and your second toon and then just run and find the chest. open it and map out with the other toon.

fastest way ..

I have been averaging 40 chests an hour in my ascalon foothills run. I started with 232 lockpicks and I have 228 of them left.

So I have broken 4 lockpicks and opened 40 chests. My retention rate is 88% currently on the chests so I am right on pace with where it should be.

All of my drops are between 12-26 gold and all are purple. I have 6,400 more chests to open to max my lucky title. At my current rate I will break 48 more picks before i get Golden.

The last 6,000 chests will cost me 600 lockpicks of which I currently have a tad over 750 left - I joined a guild that owns a town for 1200g picks instead of 1250g saving me 37,500g

Now that I have the necessary Picks to complete the title, 1,000K worth there abouts... I just need 160 hours to complete the title... eye ey eye.

EDIT: oh and as for cost, I broke 4 picks and made 600 gold so I am using 4,200g/hour loss. So I will break 640 picks and gain 220 unlucky/break or 140,800 unlucky which should be enough to max that title at the same time. WOOT
